Just checking about the boards answer to the 'years of service' from tires.
I have the Nanco - 15" load range D on the 32 foot quad bunk ZINGER.
I purchased new in 2006 (although the Zinger is a 2007 model).
Tires are in their 3rd year with minimal wear.
What's the members experience with "Dry rot" potential of the sidewall with these 4 Nanco's????

I have the same trailer. My tires were all replaced when the new axles and shackles were put on due to the wrong shackles that were put on and my tires would hit the under side of the trailer. With in a year of them being replaced on back to back weekends I had 2 tires blow out, after looking at the other 2 they were all cracking. I replaced all the tires with Goodyears.

Don't see much posting regarding your question, but my reading and research says RV tire compounds are designed for six years life; you won't likely ever wear the tread down on trailer tires like you will on your car or truck!
Now I suspect that a six year tire life is maximum and if your tires are heavily exposed to the sun or salt while sitting, and if you run pressures lower than 50 psi often or far, you'll get less or way less than six years of safe tire life! |

my unit is an 06, I had towmaster tires, 235/80R16 E rated, I keep them covered when at home and they stay covered all winter, I also used 303 on them and I watch the air, opened the unit this spring and found 2 with deep side wall cracks, the problem was bad cure, I was given the run around by the tire co, so I took all the chineese crap off and replaced all the tires, easier to change now than on the road, the piece of mind you get from good rubber is well worth the expense.......

I bought 235/85R16 Firestone Trans-Force 10ply, I went with an LT instead of ST, I have the same tire on my truck and I really liked them so now they are all the same....I feel no difference between the ST and the LT...

I replaced our 3 year old Missions a couple of months ago 235/85R16 BFG Commercial LT tires. The Missions were crap after 5k miles. I find our trips more relaxing now because I don't have to keep my eyes glued to the mirrors watching to see if one of the trailer tires has blown out. As Mike said there is no difference in the ride of the trailer with the LT as opposed to the ST.

Thanks for the reminder. I just check my tires (4 year) and they are rotted in some places. We're taking off for a 2 dayer on Thursday so I'm going to risk it. I'll be getting some new ones when I get back.
