Am heading out to Utah for our second trip of the season this Friday...Bryce Canyon, Escalante, Capital Reef, etc. Based on what I see on the web, I can't fit in the NPS campgrounds at Bryce so am looking at Red Canyon RV park or Ruby's Inn RV park. Anyone have experience with and can recommend one or the other? Thanks! |

We stayed at Ruby's a couple of years ago and some of the sites where tight to back into. We had a 30 foot tt. The park bus stops at this camp site and would suggest that you ride it as you can get off and on thru out the park and not use your gas. Sure makes it much eaiser as they let you out right at the point of the best view. The buses run about every 15 min. each way. My wife is handicap and this made less walking. Also if you are going to Zion we camped outside the park and drove in, bad choice as should have taken their bus as parking in Zion is not good. They also run bus tours and they are great. Hope you enjoy this area as much as we did. Robbie

We stayed in the NPS campground with our 30' 5th wheel. There were only a few sites we could fit in but it was very nice. Turn left just after the visitors center and stay to the left as you come into the campground area.

Here's another vote for Ruby's Inn. We've been in the campground twice and really like it.

If you like a small family out of the way C.G, go to Tropic.
Cheaper and just few minutes drive, we loved it there. |

Thanks, all. I'll look further into your recommendations. Don't know if I can wait 'til Friday to leave. As I'm writing this it's snowing but not sticking..39 degrees. Springtime (?) in the Rockies!

We are going to Utah in Sept & have made our reservation at Ruby's since the NP's don't offer space for our size either. Most of the outside campgrounds are fully equiped with everything you need. especially if you are use to water & sewer hookups. Have fun we would like to hear more about your Utah trip. As we are planning on doing a lot of hiking in the NP"s & white water ratfing in Moab. We will be seeing Arches & Canyonland moving on down to Bryce then onto Zion. Karen & Larry
