I use the Cyclone on mine and it seems to keep the odors to a minimum. I remember it before the Cyclone and it does make a difference for sure. I do also use the Geo method 1-4 times a year. In between I use the camco liquid and it seems to keep the tank pretty clean that way too.

I use the Geo method of odor control for our black water tank and nothing for the kitchen and bath tanks.  Before that, I was using a biodegradeable chemical.  Since I've been using the Geo method, there hasn't been the sour odor that appeared after a while when using the chemical so I didn't see any need for the vent top change.
My Geo method consists of a cup of Calgon powder and half a cup of cheap dishwashing liquid in 5 gallons of water poured into the black water tank only via the toilet.

Geo Method here also!!! A squirt of some type of liquid soap or a couple shakes of some type of powder detergent. A pour of liquid water softner. And occasionally a drip or two of bleach. Then at least 3 to 4 toilet boils of water. This is done immediately after dumping the tanks so it can shake, rattle and roll all the home. No need for a special vent and haven't had any odors.

GEO method for us too.  Sometimes we can't find the powdered water softner & use the liguid, still works great.  Here is that link:  sites.google.com/site/cbruni/

Geo Method here also.  From the first time I put water in and dumped some water in the black tank it smelled fresh.  I also put it in after black tank flush.  Unless the heat of the summer brings an odor this is all I will do also.  And I did the "shake" test on the TP I use and it passed with flying colors.
