Generator with AC

   We are making plans for a summer trip and one of the places that we have reservations only has 20AMP available. Do you think that it would be enough to run a single AC unit on our Cruiser if we had the refrigerator and water heater running on propane?

If that doesn't work I have a Honda EU3000i Handi and I'm wondering if it will run the AC unit on my Cruiser.

	We have the 13500 AC. I can run it on 20 amp outlet, also will run on my 2000 Honda. I don't want anything else running tho.

	x2.. If you can plug in to the shore power 20amp. You should be ok. But you will have to really watch the power usage.. I have the same AC as farmer and I added a amp gauge. She will run 12 amps alone with the ac running. If the breaker isn't weak, It will handle it. Should be OK if you do what you say and run fridge + on propane. My generator will also run it. 2800 running watts. 4 surge. It runs it ok, But barely, but i have a cheap generator not the nicer honda. Mine will trip the 15amp breaker on it once in a while running ac when my wife forgets it is running and she is plugging stuff in.

	That genny will have plenty of power to run the AC plus some. A 2000 honda would likely do it also. Running the AC is the easy part. Starting it is the trick. Thats why you can get a "hard start" capacitor. Its a inexpensive part that makes it easier to get the compressor up and going. There are many mods on the net that cover this... Good luck.

	As others have said....20-amp will be enough to run the AC.....However, as you have stated, make sure water heater is on gas and maybe the fridge too. Microwave is out of the question and you might need to shut AC off if the Misses wants to use a hair dryer. You can further reduce your electrical load by replacing your interior lights with LED's to save some juice. Not a cheap upgrade, but if you do a few camp walmarts or limited on how much power you have on hand, every little bit helps. On the generator issue....the new honda handi 3000 should be more than enough to fire the 13.5K AC. I will hopefully upgrade to one later this year as my 2000 series does not have the output to start my 15K AC unit. I did manage to borrow another 2000 series last year and run them in tandem and those two powered the AC just fine, but I also minimized my amp usage while I was dry-camped. Good luck....

	Forgot to mention there is a board that you can get that allows your A/C fan to start a few seconds after your compressor, that way there is not so much load on your generator all at once. In some of the newer FW they are putting in the Duotherm Command Comfort Center thermostat, that already has the delay built into it. Good Luck

	Here is the link to the Supco site. I just called Supco and asked about the E version and non E version. The Rep their told me to use the SPP6, So I stand corrected looks like the link you sent is correct.
