This is our first TT with a remote awning. We always used a deflapper on our previous TT to eliminate any wind damage to the awning. Our new ST30RE has no side bar on the awning to attach the deflapper to. Any suggestions out there?
Thanks, Gary & Judy

I bought a set of awning deflappers called De-flapper max made by Camco. They have a velcro strap that goes around the awning arm and then clamps onto the awning material. They work very well and only take a minute top attach.

Also interested in this. I used the De-Flappers on our manual awnings on more than one trailer with good success.
The awning on the Zinger has since been replaced with an electric one. (Don't ask)

I have the same problem with my 2012 Cruiser 335SS. The wind still shakes it so I just roll it up. Been looking for a deflapper for the new awning but no luck yet.

Same problem here with the electric awning. Can't use deflappers.

If you attach deflappers, how will the awning retract? Or, maybe I'm picturing the wrong thing?? You said electric but not automatic? I'm picturing those awnings that automatically retract in high wind or other conditions which, in my opinion, could not have deflappers on them. I assume you guys are not talking "automatic" but just electric?

I didn't know that "automatic" awnings were available. How would you know when to remove the camping lights hanging on the awning? At what point does the awning retract?.... Don't think I'd like that option. I do use awning tie downs with ground tie out stakes, but with a good stiff breezy day, de-flappers always were a good way to keep the awning from any damage to the material.

They make an automatic and a electric. The automatic does retract in rain or high wind. The electric is manually controlled but a motor runs it in and out. On the manual awning (at least the ones I had) there is a bar just below the awning from the trailer out to the "roll" that the deflappers hook to. On an electric that bar isn't there, there isn't anything to hook to closer than 2-3 foot.
