My wife has a follow up appt with her Orthopaedist in @ Rush Hospital in Oak Park, IL on July 26th, the same day we are scheduled to arrive at Shipshewana North for the 2012 CrossRoads Rally.  We would like to bring the camper down the night before, the 25th, and stay somewhere near Rush in Oak Park then after her appt pick up our Cruiser and head on to the Rally.  If anyone knows of anywhere near Oak Park that we could stay we would appreciate it.  I have been through all the camping books and Googled online but cannot find anything within 40 miles of Oak Park.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim

Maybe contact the hospital and explain your situation...they might let you stay in an outer lot....that is if you dare drag the camper down there.  They should have a patient advocate or maybe start with security.

Thanks, through much, much more surfing I found a park in Joliet, 44 miles away...but it is south and nearer to the route to Shipshewana...so we will go to Leisure Lakes on the 25th, drive the 44 miles to her appt and back, then hook up and head for the rally.  We're good...thanks all.

Glad you found something.  We live on Il/Wi state line and know that there is nothing right around Oak Park.  We are going to the Rally, too.  Looking forward to meeting some other CrossRoads campers.  See you there, and hope your wife's ortho visit goes well!

We are going with myself (Joy)  Husband Pat and 2 crazy dogs.

There's not much for campgrounds around the Chicago area.  I too live on the WI / IL boarder and tell folks who want to camp and visit the Windy City to stay at Happy Acres in Bristol and take the train from Antioch to downtown.
