I'm looking into getting some stabilizers for my 09 CF32BL. Does anyone know if you have to move the spare tire to work with the Winfield's? For the people that have these how do you like them.

I don't have the Winfield's, but I did not have to move the spare with what I installed..
This was without a doubt one of the best mods I have done! I'm sure you will be happy with the results. |

I read about a guy who really liked JT Strong Arms. It would be nice to find some kind of consumer reports comparison of the various products that are out there. I haven't done this to our trailer yet, but this mod is rising to the top of my to-do list.

People tend to like what they have purchased, unless it turns into a piece of junk.
These stabilizers are so darn simple, if I had been able to see a set before I bought, I would have made mine. |

Lloyd,
I think you are right; and I've thought about making those stabilizer bars too. But I really want to get those on our trailer, plus I don't have the surge protector on yet etc. Too many mods and not enough time, so I'm going to buy a set to install. I'm still debating on the brand.

Much like the others, I don't have winfields brand. But I had the Ultra-fab product called "The Eliminator Strut Stabilizer System" These are sold by CW. I also have a CF32BL. On mine, I lowered the spare tire a little and raise it back up holding it back towards the rear of the unit a little. This was just enought room to mount my front support arm bracket.
Good Luck Chris. PS: Like others have mention, they all do about the same. No problems with mine after 3-4years of service.

I hope the link works. I made my own stabilizers after looking at the JT stabilizers. I wish I had seen the Winfield first. I prefer the Winfield in the way they are made snug after setting up. The way I do it with the JT style is to raise the landing gear a little after setting the lock bolts on the JT style. I believe the Winfield is a little cheaper than the JT's so if I were buying a system I would go with the Winfield.

Thanks for the info Don and to the rest of you guys for the input. I think I have decided on the Winfield's because of price and I spoke to them on the phone and they were very nice and knowledgeable. They even went through the pro's and con's of there product and others.

When I mounted the JT StrongArms on our 5vr, I moved the spare tire mount back about 4 inches to give the centre mount strut bracket plenty of clearance.

I have decided on the Winfield's. I was also looking at the Steady Fast. I think what got me to go with the Winfield's was the price and ease of installation. After doing a lot of research on websites, forums and talking with the companies themselves I think everyone makes a great product and they all work great.
