New to Forum, Model question.

   I am considering the purchase of a new 5'ver. This will be our first real camper. We currently have a small pop-up that we pull with our motorcycle. The closest Crossroads dealer is 3 hrs. drive and does not stock all three models that we want to look at. We like the floor plans of the 29RE, 29RK, and 30SK. My choice would be the 29RE with second being the 30SK. The DW prefers the 29RK with the second being the 30SK. Could I hear from those that might have been in this same predicament and let me know why you chose one of these models over the others. I know that the 29RE is not in the current lineup, but a different dealer has a new '08 in stock.

	First off let me say,"welcome to the forum" We didn't have that problem, so can't help you there. I would just suggest you folks take your time looking. Go to what ever dealers is necessary to see all the units that you both are considering before you make a decision. After all, a new 5er is a big investment for most folks.

	As mentioned in the other topic we have the 30SK. We love the spacious atmosphere, overall layout and 3 slides. Lots of storage, had ours for 3 years and still have empty cupboards! The single room bath was a big selling point for us. I didn't care for the split rooms or sink area that was open to the bedroom. We also like the windows out the back. Dislikes include the almost worthless awning (doesn't cover the door enough and too small). It tows great with the 6.0 gasser but tows MUCH BETTER with the diesel. We sat in several different floorplans at the dealer for a few hours and just looked and pretended to camp before we made a final decision. You can also get to all the needed areas with the slides closed which is nice for quick lunch breaks along the road. Good luck.

	I, personally (if I didn't have children) would have gotten the CF30SK. I like the bedroom slide and kitchen area.

	I agree with the above, take your time and spend time in each model. We went with the 30SK because of the all in one bathroom and the triple slides. With the slides out there is plenty of room to streatch out. It also pulls great with the F250 diesel.

	Pretty much what everyone else has already said. Now, I have a question for you...What kind of truck do you have, or will you be purchasing a new one? I'm sure not one of those weight police type guys but, I just don't want to see anyone make the same mistake I made...twice!

	We have a 29RE and really like the floor plan. With 3 kids, the sales guys kept trying to point us towards the bunk houses. But our previous TT was a bunk house and we wanted more daytime living space. With our Northwest climate we do see a lot of rainy days in the campground so like the extra living space the 29RE gives us. When the weather is nicer my sons prefer to sleep in their tent any way. If not outside they sleep on the hide-a- bed. Plusses of the 29RE-- bigger e-center, we have a 32" LCD (plus after market surround sound) makes for great movie watching on rainy evenings. Also the fridge and bathroom are quickly accessible from the entry without walking across the carpet. We first looked at a Laredo with the same layout but it didn't have the bedroom slide. We found a dealer that carried both Laredo and Cruiser so were able to look at both side by side and felt the Cruiser was a better overall product. My wife initially liked the extra counter space of the 29RK but soon realized having the "living room" at the back was better for us. We also do a lot of outdoor cooking and she realized it would be much easier having the kitchen adjacent to the entry. We also didn't want a curb side slideout because we wanted to have a larger awning covered area. So that ruled out the 30SK.

	Cobra909, we have a 2008 f-250 CC 5.4l 3.73 rated to tow a fifth wheel up to 9700 lbs. I am thinking that if it does struggle some, that I will change the r&p gears to 4.30. That would bring the towing capacity to around 13k. shoetravel, we think alot alike. Those are pretty much the same reasons that my favorite is the 29RE floorplan. I won't be able to look at that model next week, but maybe the DW will be swayed by two like thinkers. Thanks.

	I'm towing a 30SK with a 250 5.4 3.73's... Have been for two years... She lugs down on hills and struggles a bit in high winds... No trouble what so ever with suspension... The SK tows great!!!

	ONTHEROAD, that is just exactly the info that I am wanting to hear. I thought that the weight of the Cruiser's would be right in my towing capabilities. On the Open Roads forum, there are so many posters that swear that you must have a diesel to tow anything over 8000 lbs. Lots of arguments and little real information! Thanks.
