tried to make it so the "V" opened toward the rear of the trailer, but not enough room for it to close properly.  Bad design anyway, having the wiring over the tires...gravel is very hard on it, even with loom.

how long did you make the flat bar and what kind of hinge did you use?

not really sure where they found it. You could probably use a strip from sturdy rubber welcome mat or similar to make one.

If ya'll are talking about the plastic track mine broke after our second outing after buying the trailer. I had temporarily fixed it together with some old bicycle tire tube and some self taping screws. It held and worked quite well. I had my dealer replace it under warrenty when it went in last year for some other work, it too broke after the slide went in and out twice, i repaired it myself again with tire tube and pvc glue. So far so good. When I asked the dealer if there was something other than the same POS they put on they told me that CR hadn't experienced any problems so the design wasn't changed. Go figure.

I used 1-1/4 flat bar and it measures 20" each side, with hinge.  You can use any old hinge as long as it pivots enough for your needs.
I used an old door hinge cut in half.  Welded it to both pieces in the middle, and then to both end pieces.  Used 4 short lag screw to secure it to the frame and the slide.
Then just cable tied the harness to the metal strip, just leave enough slack(about an 1-2") in the center so you don't pinch it when the "V" closes up.   It is bolted about 6" back from the slide rail itself.

I have some pics...lets see if I can figure out how to put them on?!?!?
Nope...send me an e-mail to  tmalo666@hotmail.com  and I will mail them to you.
