Some like them and others are concerned about pulling the ladder out. I know there has been alot of discussion on the old forum you might look there.

I would rather take my chances on the bumper. If you have been up and down your ladder a few times you will know what I am talking about. The RV ladders are not that sturdy. There are those that use them and like them.

I just put my receiver on and platform today.Used a Curt E-100 receiver instead of my home made one because of a clearance problem between the bumper and camper rear wall.Worked out great ,only two bolts and its done.Dealer said the bumper should carry 300-350 # with no problem and Crossroad said they didn't have a problem as long as it wasn't towing something.I agree with the weak ladder, but I know the ladder will hold 225# but not sure about carrying it very long and beating around.Good luck

I have a ladder rack but only use it for two of the kids bikes. My ladder is too close to the side of the trailer so adult bikes would stick out to the curb side too much. I carry two adult bikes on a bumper mount rack that has two mounting points on the back bumper.
I'll have to figure something else out for this year. My youngest, my daughter, her bike was always small enough to just set inside the 5er. But now she has a bigger one that will have to mount outside. Plus my oldest son is now into an adult size bike so will need to mount some place other than the ladder. I am looking at a front mounted receiver for my truck to use for a 4 bike set up. My second son will be on an adult size bike in the next year or so anyway. Don't know what I'll do in about 4 years when I'll have to carry 5 adult size bikes....

Don't Worry by then the oldest will be able to drive, and will take your truck instead of the bike

Yeah, you're probably right. He is already hinting that when he gets his license in a couple of years if he drives my truck to school he'll be able to get home earlier to start his chores and his home work. Why am I not buyin' it? I told him if that is the case he can drive my Focus and I'll drive the truck. He's not as keen on that idea...
