I feel really dumb posting this but just in case someone else didn't know they had one, we just discovered that our Seville has an exhaust vent for the microwave oven on the exterior of the trailer that you can open with two little clips or notches.  Ours was still clipped in the closed position probably meant for travel.  The microwave seems to run a bit quieter with it open, lol

albianne, you may want to look at that vent again, it is more likely to be the exhaust vent for your stove top hood, unless you have 2 separate vent caps.

We have a combo microwave/hood fan combo so you're probably right, in any event I like the idea of it venting outside instead of into the trailer, lol

It certainly does a lot better job at removing cooking smells with the vent open. I don't always open ours, but if it is closed and I try to run the fan on a higher setting, it puts a lot of strain on the motor, and it gets hot enough to smell it.

Locking those little clips for travel has always been a tough one to remember. Same with setup.

I have an automatic reminder to open my vent, the smoke alarm.

If you don't clip the door closed the wind going down the road will break it.

My alarm to open it - has two legs and a LOUD voice - and usually after I have relaxed into recliner.

I always thought the smoke alarm going off was telling me it's time to eat!!!LOL

That side vent is mainly to pull Co2 from the gas stove outside instead of letting it build up in the trailer. But it also does a good job of letting the neighbors know when the bacon is cooking.

Does anyone else notice that the microwave is quite noisy when running,  it is noisy enough that you have to turn the TV up if you are nuking anything for any length of time, it seems much noisier than the micro/hood fan in our stick house.
