Thanx for all the good advice. I think we'll just stay off the slide until extended.

Welcome to the forum!  Someone on this forum had a problem with the floor of the slide out coming detatched from the side walls of the slide out.  There was a thread on the old forum about it if I remember correctly.Wacko  Apparently because of the way the floor is attached to the side walls it is not fully supported unless it is extended and the slide out floor is resting on the framing underneath.  Enjoy your new rig and again welcome!

Welcome to the forum.  We also use our slide while in, staying off of the front edge of the floor is key.  Old Farmer's solution sounds practical.  As a son of a WI farmer, that's what I would expect hear.

Bob:
Thats the way I see it. The leading edge of the slide raises as it comes in, and it stays up off the floor. I believe by putting the boards under that front lip you have braced it in the same way as when it is extended.
Not very glamorous I agree,Wink but it works for us.Big smile

I had hoped we didn't have to put out the slides to eat. Some States and citys call that camping as soon as you put out a slide. some walmarts wont let you put them out either. There are lots of states that say your vehicle must be "ready to drive" thats no awnings out no feet down and no slideouts out thats why we chose the 30sk the floorplan we liked best was the 29ck but there was no way to deal with food at a rest stop without putting the slides out. Ill ask the dealer tomorrow!!!!!

Wal-Mart doesn't care about your slides, it's the cities rules & reg's department that cares. As far as Wal-Mart is concerned your abother paying customer, just ask them - they will tell you they love campers.
