Yesterday stopped for gas in Needles,CA and the attended noticed the tires and said we had broken springs/shackles. 4 hours and 3000.00 dollars later we were on our way.He said as far as he knows that is not covered under warranty. He also told us this trailer was well built and if it was not then our wheels would have come of the trailer, we were lucky we needed to get gas. I asked about the axles and he said they were good. Now I am wondering how to make sure this does not happen again. It is a holiday we can't get the hold of anyone to ask about the warranty, it was 2.00pm and it would soon be dark and stressed about what could have happened. But I did read you have to get approval before the shop starts the work. When we left home in October we put on 2 new tires and the shop did not mention anything wrong with the springs or axles. The tires wearing out we thought might be that we were not riding levelt so we lower the to trailer to the truck and it goes nice. Does anyone know what would have caused this to happen. Thank for any input

not sure what happened. did you take pictures? $3000 sound awfully steep. you can buy new axles and springs with hangers and weld them on for that much. what trailer/year do you own? is it still covered under warrenty? glad you caught it and nobody was hurt.

Our rig is a PP30CK 2006, no did not think of taking pictures, but got parts home with us.I was so busy trying to think about how I was going to come up with 3000.00. I did look down between the wheels and that part was broken apart, nothing much was holding it together, now I can see all one piece when I look at it 4.HD Gas shocks 539.87--14 bolts 306.32--HD rockers 289.00--4 HD leaf springs 794.88 8 steel plates 55.00 labor 650.00--shop supplies 185.87 -- tax 173.85 TTl 2996.42

The repair man said I must have hit a pot hole on the road, I think I would remember that if I did, nothing comes to mind, the way we come down from LAS to Needles there is no construction.

You may have had a broken shock but you would know if you had a broken spring. What was the name of this service center?

I got online and looked up gas shocks for RVs at PPL. They were $18.00. I think you need to look up all the parts on PPL and then go back and tell them you are getting an attorney.

All I can say is WOW! Hate to say it but someone had a Merry Christmas at your expense. I know you did not have much choice but to get it fixed I just think that is out of line. Since it is an 06 I doubt you will get anything out of Lippert or CR but who knows.

We are going to the Needles area in a day or two. Where are you now? Perhaps we can be of help.
